Services

  • In-situ groundwater sampling (screen-point sampler)
  • Continuous and discrete soil sampling (MacroCore/split-spoon systems)
  • 2-inch diameter well installations using the 4.25-inch or 6.25-inch inside diameter hollow stem augers (HSA)
  • 1-inch diameter well installations using the Dual Tube system
  • Mud and wash rotary capabilities
  • Coring, reaming, and packer testing capabilities
  • Sparge well and injection well installations for remedial purposes
  • In-situ pressure injection through probing tools
  • Well abandonment
  • Concrete coring

The direct-push units can perform Dual Tube operations, deep borings, and complete small dimensional wells and permanent 2-inch diameter monitoring well installations. The versatility of the direct-push units results in considerable cost savings, time savings, and minimal waste generation.

The rotary drill unit (Diedrich D-120) can accomplish the deeper investigative tasks and collect geotechnical data.

Direct-Push Benefits

ALTECH Ltd operates the GeoprobeŽ direct-push units 6620DT and Advance 6610DT (numerous configurations available).

Benefits of these larger probe units are:

  • Greater pushing and pulling capability due to larger hammer and static weight above grade
  • Faster rod pulling capability
  • Deeper tooling penetration with larger diameter tools
  • Ability to install conventional 2-inch diameter wells with hollow stem augers (HSA) (4.25-inch inside diameter)
  • Remote area accessibility and interior area accessibility using the track units

ALTECH Ltd has probed head-to-head with smaller probe units. The differences in productivity are significant. In one day, the Advance 6600 unit will typically accomplish two times the vertical footage compared to smaller probes.

In addition, ALTECH Ltd has soil sampled head-to-head with hollow stem auger (HSA) units. The difference in daily productivity is substantial. Probing methods can accomplish four or more times the vertical footage compared to HSA methods. Minimal waste cuttings are generated using probing methods, thereby resulting in significant additional project cost and time savings.

Rotary Drill Benefits

ALTECH Ltd operates truck-mounted Diedrich D-120 that accomplishes the deeper monitoring well installations and penetrates the tougher geologic settings (clay tills/bedrock).
